Signs your gutters are not doing their job
- Water spilling over the front of the gutter during rain
- Gutters pulling away from the house or sagging between hangers
- Peeling paint or rot on the fascia boards behind the gutter
- Puddles, washed-out mulch or erosion along the foundation
- Water in the basement after heavy rain
- Thick ice along the gutters in winter
How we install gutters
- Measure the roof. Roof area and pitch tell us how much water each run has to carry and how many downspouts are needed.
- Check the fascia. Gutters are only as solid as the board they hang on, so rotted fascia gets replaced first.
- Set the pitch. Each run slopes toward its outlet so water does not sit in the gutter.
- Hang and seal. Hangers are spaced to hold the weight of water and snow, and seams and end caps are sealed.
- Direct the water. Downspouts and extensions carry water away from the foundation.
Built for Lake County winters
Snow loads, ice and spring downpours are hard on gutters in Waukegan and the rest of Lake County. Gutters that are loose or pitched wrong hold water that freezes, adds weight and pulls the system away from the house. A well-hung system with enough downspouts drains faster in spring and holds up better in winter.
Gutters are part of the roof system, so we look at them during every roof inspection. Call (224) 772-4836 or request a free estimate.
